Q: What made you decide to work for ICOM?
A: I decided to work for ICOM because I wanted to have a hand in establishing Idaho’s first medical school and assist with fulfilling the need of physician shortages in many rural areas. Coming from a rural area myself, the school’s mission speaks to my heart.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: I’ve always wanted to be part of an organization that inspires me. I feel proud to be part of history, where I can leave my footprint, on some level.
Amy Southern | Administrative Assistant
Q: What made you decide to work for ICOM?
A: I chose to work for ICOM because it was an opportunity to take a small part in helping student-doctors achieve their goals of becoming physicians. I also chose to work for ICOM because the staff members that I spoke with prior to accepting my position were positive, welcoming and excited about the work they do here at ICOM. Most adults are at work more than they are at home, so it’s important that your work family is as great as your home family!
Mackenzie Spaulding | Administrative Assistant
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part about working in Academic Affairs at ICOM is the people and the work. I love that every day is different, and the work that I do has a lot of creative aspects to it. The ICOM Administrative Department is one of the best teams I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Also, we have the coolest faculty around.
Jane Williams | Executive Assistant to the President
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: What I enjoy the most about my job is participation in activities that involve the current and prospective students. I enjoy interviewing the prospective students. It is so exciting to see their passion for medicine and their eagerness to learn about ICOM and Idaho. I appreciate any opportunities that I get interacting with the current student population, whether this is volunteering at orientation, the white coat ceremony, health fair, or social events. I love getting to know the students and hearing their stories. I also look forward to the opportunity to help any staff or faculty that I can to help fulfill ICOM’s mission.
