ICOM in Washington D.C. for ‘DO Day on Capitol Hill’

Students and administrators from the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine joined hundreds of their peers from the osteopathic medical profession for the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) DO Day on Capitol Hill.

DO Day is an advocacy event for osteopathic physicians and students, focused on osteopathic medicine and related healthcare issues. It provides attendees an opportunity to assemble in Washington D.C. to make their voices heard in the halls of Congress.

This year’s advocacy topics included support for the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act (H.R. 879), Medicaid funding, Telehealth expansion, and the Teaching Health Center for Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) program.

ICOM representatives visited the Offices of Rep. Russ Fulcher, Rep. Mike Simpson, Sen. Jim Risch, and Sen. Michael Crapo. Attendees included: ICOM Dean and Chief Academic Officer, Kevin Wilson, DO, FACOI, FACP; Associate Dean of Osteopathic Integration, Sarah Davis, DO; Cara DeLuce, OMS-I; Annie Lorelei Hoffman, OMS-III; Mara Krutsinger, OMS-II; View Nevill, OMS-I; and Lu Wolff, OMS-II.
