Student Doctor Jett Murray, Class of 2025, has been named ICOM’s 2023-2024 Student Doctor of the Year (SDOY).
Each year, the ICOM Student Government Association requests nominations of students who demonstrate the principles of leadership, community service, dedication and professionalism. Osteopathic medical colleges across the country select one student from their respective institutions to compete for the national SDOY award.
Student Doctor Murray is currently completing his rotations in Idaho’s Treasure Valley area and currently serves as the National Recruitment Chair of Omega Beta Iota: The National Osteopathic Political Action Honor Society. He also recently completed the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine’s (AACOM) Osteopathic Health Policy Intern program. During the 2022-2023 school year, Student Doctor Murray served as President of ICOM’s Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) Chapter.
“It is a fantastic honor to have been selected as ICOM’s 2023-2024 Student Doctor of the Year. I am extremely grateful for all of the opportunities that I have had at ICOM, as well as the immense support that I have received from the student community. My journey over the last three years has been extremely formative, and I am looking forward to serving my patients and their communities for many years to come.”
As Student Doctor of the Year, Murray will represent the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine for the national Council of Osteopathic Student Government President’s (COSGP) SDOY competition this spring.
